Created machines via PVS XD wizard get EFI system partition error

Gregory Moore

Question

Good day everyone:

Working on a PVS issue before i build out the environment in production.

I've successfully been able to get machines created using the XD wizard in PVS 7.15 and what I have done is made sure that my template had the bdm file in the datastore and the CD/DVD drive was mapped.

When I boot up a machine, I get an error stating the following: EFI system partition (ESP) error: unsupported.

This is a Windows 10 image and I have attached the error below.

for this environment, we are not using PXE boot. We are using BDM. I have come across this article and i am contemplating if I need to have some adjustments made by the domain controller administrators for this allowance: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/provisioning/7-7/pvs-install/pvs-configure-UEFI.html.

Has anyone else come across this issue with Windows 10 virtual machines that were created via PVS? if so, what did you end up doing to combat this issue without having to go into DHCP settings on your domain controller or dhcp server.
