Hi Folks,

i have an problem with a Console in a xen Pool, first my environment:

Xen Center 6.5 SP1 on Windows 10

So in this pool there are 2 servers, and one of this servers i have a blank console display in Xencenter.

i tried a new Install from xen Center, upgrade to SP1, i deleted all files in %APPDate/citrix, restart Poolstack, reboot the Xenserver, but nothing hapens, the Console display is still blank.

Could anyone give me a tip ?

I had the same problem on some hosts, and not others. I eventually figured out it was part of a previous problem with being unable to connect to some older servers from XenCentre 6.5. This was down to dodgy certs.

I believe MS may have made 512bit certs fail. Anyways, my fix:

service xapissl stop

mv /etc/xensource/xapi-ssl.pem /etc/xensource/xapi-ssl.pem.bak

vi /opt/xensource/libexec/generate_ssl_cert [Change the "openssl genrsa" to "openssl genrsa 1024"]

/opt/xensource/libexec/generate_ssl_cert "/etc/xensource/xapi-ssl.pem" '[MachineIP]'

service xapissl start && xe-toolstack-restart

After this the console worked fine.

This worked like a charm! :) Only one of four servers needed this.. it was already set to 1024 so not sure what happened but all is well now.

I am having the same issue.  None of the previous fixes worked.  Here is what I have found:

After loading a physical PC with windows 7 Pro(from an image that was created prior to April 25, 2016), then I immediately installed xencenter 7.  I found I could access all of my VMs that had the blank console with no problems.  After running a windows update, the blank console problem returned.  I did a system restore to the point before I ran the windows updates and I was once again able to access the console again.

I am thinking one of the windows updates has either changed a firewall setting, or otherwise caused the blank console issue.   Since I had access to the VMs again, I enabled RDP on the VMs.  This way even if the xencenter console still shows a blank screen, after about 10 seconds it does roll over to RDP and at least get me access to the VMs through the console again.

Sorry I do not know cause yet, but I hope this helps.

Update - I have disabled the firewall on all of my VMs and on my workstation that is running xencenter and it had no effect on the problem.  Still not sure which windows update is breaking the xencenter console, but it does not appear to be a firewall issue in my case.

Hi,

so on other installations there is no problem with the same xenCenter software.

Now i deinstalled all my Citrix Software from my PC, deleted in %%appdata every entry with citrix, and made new install from xenCenter on my PC, with the same result, no Console on the second xenserver.

very frustrating.

@tobias

yes, i get no login window, for the server, and no login window if i change to a VM.

Yes its is possible to connect via ssh.

It must be something on my windows PC, from other PCs with XenCenter yout get a login window.

Hi Tobias,

both Xen-server are ntp synchronized.

After upgrade to 6.5 SP1 and deleteing from all files under %APP%/citrix  do the following:

new Pool-> add poolmaster

after this the second server was visible in xencenter, but with no console Display.
