Amazon EC2's simple web service interface allows customers to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It provides companies with complete control of the computing resources and lets customers run on Amazon's computing environment. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing companies to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as computing requirements change. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing payment only for capacity used. |

Accessing Corporate Data from the Cloud - This blueprint documents deploying Citrix C3 in a public cloud environment to deliver Windows applications from the cloud with secure, high performance access to corporate data residing behind the corporate firewall. Citrix XenApp, the Citrix Access Gateway client and the Citrix Repeater client are provided in a single Amazon Machine Image (AMI) running in Amazon EC2. Customers and prospects will benefit from the ability to configure and test applications in a cloud environment without having to migrate or replicate their sensitive corporate files in the cloud. Instead, the application accesses the corporate data on-demand via the Citrix Repeater and secured via Citrix Access Gateway. The WAN acceleration benefit of the Citrix Repeater can also be easily demonstrated with this configuration.

Bridging to a Corporate Network from Amazon EC2 - This blueprint documents deploying Citrix XenApp in a public cloud environment to deliver Windows applications from the cloud with secure access to corporate data residing behind the corporate firewall. Users authenticate once, using their enterprise credentials, and are then given access to applications on EC2 and data held in the enterprise.

C3 Cloud Bridge - This blueprint documents how Citrix is using the Citrix C3 lab to demonstrate the feasibility of application virtualization and data delivery from the cloud. The datacenter or premise infrastructure is located at Citrix Labs in Santa Clara. The Citrix C3 lab is running in Amazon Web Services EC2. A Vyatta site-to-site SSL VPN connects the two. Citrix Branch Repeater/WANScaler makes the data delivery fast, Vyatta makes it secure. This page describes the Citrix technologies used to create this demo environment and is a compelling example of how ISV's and Enterprises can setup similar demo environments using Citrix XenApp in the cloud.

C3 Cloud Burst - This blueprint documents how Citrix is using the Citrix C3 lab to support the launch of Citrix Receiver for iPhone. A "private" cloud is created using Citrix C3 – Citrix XenServer, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix Workflow Studio and Citrix XenApp hosted by Citrix partner Softlayer - to deliver Windows Application to the iPhone. The private cloud uses the Citrix C3 Lab running in Amazon Web Services EC2 as an "overflow" cloud when demand exceeds the private cloud capacity. The blueprint documents the mechanics and workflow required to synchronize user data across clouds and load balancing across the cloud for optimal performance.

App Virtualization Test Lab - This blueprint documents how Citrix is migrating Citrix Ready Virtual Test Lab from a hosted resource capped environment to the non-constrained resource elastic Citrix C3 Lab running in Amazon EC2. The Citrix Ready Virtual Lab is an online lab environment that can be utilized by partners that do not have access to their own Citrix lab environment; however, it currently can only support 8 concurrent testing sessions due to physical lab constraints. After the migration is completed, the new Citrix Ready Virtual Test Lab will take advantage of the Amazon Web Services Elastic Computing Model to dynamically scale up or down based on demand.
