There are two underlying software technologies, Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services (WSS) and Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS). Sharepoint services (WSS) is typically used by small teams, projects and companies, while Sharepoint Server (MOSS) is designed for individuals, teams and projects within a medium to large enterprise. MOSS is a collaborative portal that is built on top of WSS. MOSS requires a license. |
