XenServer Virtual Appliances

Now that XenServer is free, the opportunity to build business practices that include the use of virtual appliances is greater and esier than ever.  You can easily build virtual appliances using the XenServer and the tools provided by Citrix.

A virtual appliance is a self-contained virtual machine that includes a pre-installed operating system, applications and services.  Virtual appliances can simplify deployment and optimize resources for Citrix customers and partners.  A virtual appliance can provide a key advantage for Citrix partners by allowing you to quickly deploy proof of concepts and full production deployments. Virtual appliances can greatly reduce the cost and complexity of managing NFR hardware appliances for POCs.  Complex installations of software solutions can be simplified and streamlined through the use of virtual appliances with XenServer as well.  Product installations can be performed in advance leaving little or no configuration left for the customer to perform, which gets the customer up and using your product quickly.

To help you build a XenServer based virtual appliance, the below links have been provided to help you.  The links below are listed in a logical order to work through the process.  If you are already familiar with some of the steps, you can jump forward to subsequent links to get to the level of information most helpful to you.
