Wouldn't it be smart to include in the iPad receiver or in the welcome email an invitation to signup for access to Office for $9.95 a month. Obviously to run the demos you guys have servers, so why not offer a service!

It seems, although much of what your web site presents is needlessly confused by your choice of branding words, that you want to sell expensive software to big companies. That's fine, but there are far more small business and individuals who would like to access Office on their iPad.

Clearly there would need to be a way for a persons pc or Mac to get files to and from the cloud, but that's not hard. Even better would be a background task that uploads every Office file when you close it and checks the cloud for newer versions and downloads them so you get them whenever you try to open an Office file.

If you guys don't want to offer a service for individuals, certainly some company that owns your software could use their excess capacity to offer a service.

You also offer a client that keeps the application resident. This is even better because 3G is slow and wifi isn't always available.

PS, Outlook must be part of the Office package because most business folks want access to all their old mail received and sent. This means large .pst files must be in the cloud.

If you really do work for AA then you would know 1) if you have what is needed to access sabre. 2) The way you ask questions show you are interested on the possibility of running company restricted applications in a remote access way. So you either want to hack AA or do not understand or know enough to ask the right questions to help you do whatever it is you want do.

Hey, we are not all techie geeks and obviously you do not understand why the guy wants to accesss AA. AA sabre system is easily accessed with a PC with JAVA version installed. No reason to hack with an IPAD toy even if you wanted to. I had the same question and I went to Best Buy today to try access to AA Sabre. Said I needed the java installed. Well not your normal java. You have to get it from Apple. Good news it is free. But the model in the store does not let you download and the employees do not have the access to download. So I could not try it in the store. And the return policy is a restocking fee of 15%. So much for the IPAD, I guess I will stick with the MS based OS, at least I know it works.

I was really disappointed that you could not test the website with the plugins you need. I would have been willing to purchased and it it worked, great, if not return it, but not at a cost of $120. I can understand that the stores do not want everyone to download apps because it would proably mess up the IPAD after a while or cause performance and config issues. But like a PC, you would think they have a way to do a quick reboot of the original shipped image.

I guess my way to find out will find out someone that wanted an IPAD regardless of Sabre access but found out if it works or not.

Thank you for the improvements in V1.1... I was struggling with the iPad's lack of "mirror" support on the VGA adapter and no mouse. These two additions will make the Citrix client much more useful for our customers.

Go to the AppStore on your iPad, search for Citrix Receiver for iPad and hit install app. Once you have it on your iPad, you set up a workspace and define the address where you have your virtual desktop, enter your Username and Password, the domain, and the gateway settings.

Also, if you have an iPhone, you can enable Bluetooth on the iPad and use the iPhone as a mouse.

I use Receiver daily with a Win 7 virtual desktop for Microsoft Office and corporate apps.

Is it possible to enable the mouse within the Citrix session on the IPAD? I have an application that depends on the mouse for quite a few functions and I have been unable to replicate them through gestures. Utilizing the IPhone as a trackpad is not an option because users are standing up and holding the IPAD as they use this.

Sadly, it appears someone really missed the mark with the iPad Reciever. "A" for effort, but "D" for execution. Once logged in, you are given no notification that your login was successful, other than the little spinny thing stops spinning. Not very intuitive for non-technical users. No icons on the desktop, which would be a nice touch (similar to how the PN Agent would do it). Also, the ability to change your password is less than stellar. When a password expires, then user is presented with a less-than-intuitive "Next Token - Wait for the token code to change and then enter the new token code" . WHAT TOKEN CODE? I'm not even trying to use RSA authentication and it's asking about tokens??? This thing is supposed to provide added convenenience, but all I can predict is a FLOOD of phone calls to our support line when people get totally confused. When's the next version due out?

Receiver worked immediately after download from the App Store. It integrated with our XenApp infrastructure right out of the box and works perfect on the iPad IOS 3.2 and so far on IOS 4.2. Logins are quick and published application response is amazing. It integrates with our VPN without an issue.  A+ citrix, well done.

    Helping wife with ipad issue.

Cant open any programs through the Citrix App on iPad when trying to connect from wifi at home.

She can log in and connect but when clicking on a program she just gets "please wait" and it then returns to previous screen. Root Certificates are installed on the server and I added it to the ipad so it would be a trusted profile using the iphone/ipad configuration utility. Still can't launch any of the Apps.

Is there something that her IT people will need to configure for her to be able to connect while out of the office, that's kind of the whole point of using a mobile device.

One of our customers, US Department of Justice, has been evaluating XD5. As part of the evaluation they have deployed 40 iPads with the iOS Receiver. Some of these devices have been configured with the iOS beta Receiver (Receiver 5).

They like the beta version of the new Receiver but have two questions for which I do not have the answers.

    1. Is the beta app signed with a Citrix APNS certificate?

    2. How can we install it directly from the website without going through the Apple App store and without having a Citrix provisioning profile? We thought all apps had to be provided through Apple or an Enterprise App store.  If you're just helping us on the side, that's great - the download did work but we'd like to understand how beta Programs support the distribution of apps if possible.

The second question is most likely coming from the delivery method used to supply the beta testers with the Receiver; via a Dropbox link.

    Any help is appreciated.
