One of the major decisions with a Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 design is deciding on the number of zones required. As additional versions of Presentation Server are released the details behind zone communication are also changed. As zone communication continues to improve, the basis for deciding on the number of zones also changes.
XenApp was designed and tested to support up to 1,000 servers in a single farm. This was mainly intended to meet the need to consolidate numerous servers and to centralize the administration and support into a single XenApp farm. In most organizations' environments, the proposition will work as intended; however, there are specific situations where a single farm design is not a suitable solution and a multiple farm design is more appropriate. In this article, the design considerations for selecting a multiple farm design will be presented.

Real-time alerts allow you to monitor mission-critical applications and devices and notify designated people in your enterprise in the event of a problem. By default, alert data and statistics are collected by the agent on each desktop and uploaded to the server on a daily basis. When you explicitly configure an alert by creating an alert rule, you are requesting real-time notification that a specific alert condition has occurred.

Hello, I am working in application packaging technology. I am involved in MSI ...Hello,
I am working in application packaging technology. I am involved in MSI Packaging project, where MSI package will get deploy in Citrix environment. There are few queries related to configuration of MSI package for Citrix environment which I need to be get clarify.
As per my knowledge we need to apply some configurations in MSI package to make it applicable for Citrix client-server architecture. Below are some customization mentioned.
1. Remove advertised shortcuts from package. As shortcuts will published to client machine, so shortcuts present in the package will not required.
2. Advertising information should be removed from the package. (For e.g Feature advertisement, COM information.
3. User profile files needs to be handled separately through script. User profile related to registries can kept in the package, as it will be handle by citrix
4. User profile custom actions present in MSI package needs to be handle separately.
Could you please confirm whether these configurations are required to do in newer version of Citrix (Presentation server 4.5)
Thanks & Regards,
Ajit Thorat
