I'm seriously having trouble understand Citrix' strategy in this part of its product lines... Being both a Microsoft Gold and Citrix Silver partner - which solution should we push to our customers? Is XenServer staying, or is Hyper-V going to become the new Windows Terminal Server on which you piggyback and release (good!) software for?

Our goal was to synchronize this release of Essentials for Hyper-V with the launch of R2 for Windows Server 2008. The source code license that XenSource had to Hyper-V from their development contract with Microsoft gives Citrix the ability to add value to the Microsoft Hyper-V platform.
The Essentials for Hyper-V line will follow the model we followed in the past of building on top of the Microsoft platform. The Essentials for XenServer product will continue as well. We could not build Essentials for Hyper-V without the expertise & experience gained from building and selling XenServer.
