We've been working hard on the next major release of Citrix Receiver for iPhone, although our team is confident we did a good job implementing the first few releases, we decided to continue innovating. With that been said, our next major release will be focused on a highly improved user experience, and many innovative features!
During an usability study we have acknowledged 20 pixels of "waisted" space within the XenApp session, and 20px in a mobile device is like gold, specially when you only have a 320 x 480 viewable area.
I'm talking about the iPhone Status bar.

This bar indicates, time, carrier, signal strength, wireless mode, battery, bluetooth, etc... The status bar is visible most of the time, except in rare occasion, like when playing full screen movies, pictures, games, etc.
Today I would like to turn to you to help me make a decision on how to regain those 20px back, after all, we are designing this product for you, and getting your input this early is very valuable to us.
The question is pretty simple, we have 3 option, Solid (as is today), Translucent (see thru), Hidden. Which one do you like the most?
Best regards,
Gus pinto

User setting would be best, but as valuable as those extra pixels and other usere xperience features are, I think the emphasis has to be on fixing current problems and addressing access limitations that are preventing adoption.

I agree, existing issues are our priority, it's certainly big part of making the user experience complete. we're not overlooking any issues, in fact most of them are already being addressed and released. I'm sure you have noticed we keep constant updates of the Receiver coming out and each one of them have fixes identified in our forums.
hope this helps.
Many thanks again for the feedback.
best,
Gus

You guys want to charge $400 for support on this issue, but the app was offered for free?!?!? In other words, you'll offer an app for "free", but then charge $400 to use it? Do I sound upset? You better believe it after experiencing your horrible phone support, and lack of response (none) via Twitter. You (Gus) and Scott are very familiar with what I'm talknig about. See the link below. It seems like you guys are working on a very nice product, but doing a very poor job at keeping up with customers problems and supporting the product you're offering.

I'm pinging the folks in support to get an update. I'm really sorry this is the experience you had while dealing with the issue, I've been on the outside before and know how frustrating this can get.
As I mentioned on my prior comment, issues are our #1 priority and there's no improvement in user experience unless we address them.
Please send me your case # to gus@citrix.com, I will do my best to track it down and figure this out.

I run 480w and 300h giving me a good view of the desktop form a sideways view. My whine is the little arrow gets over my start button ! Also, another cool feature would be to put some sort of # of programs running by the top of the App List so you can tell how many are running. If I start a couple I have to click around figure out what is running. A little idiot indicator would be grand.

I was wondering about the output using the video out cables for the iphone. Dont know if it is a iphone or application question - but if I used the cable, would I get a full size screen (by plugging in to a monitor or something).
Like I said - not sure if that would be a function of the iphone or of the app reciever. I am looking to basically be able to run my XenDesktop and give a gotomeeting or presentation.
Hope you are well,
Mike
