While I was attending PubForum in Dublin recently and doing a presentation on Provisioning Server, I had some interesting conversations about PVS. One of them was with Andreas Huther, Sascha Zimmer, and Benjamin Haberkorn from Net-On in Germany. We had a discussion about Daylight Savings Time (DST) and Time zones, and how they have seen environments where if things don't work the way they are supposed to, and for many other reasons, the PVS client does not get the correct time for where they are located.

I ran into a similar issue when I first got introduced to PVS, and it was that the time in the vDisk and in the Bios of the target device were not the same, and they were usually so far off in time as compared to the Domain Controllers that I would see massive Kerberos errors in the event logs, and the end result was that the Machine Account or Any User Account could not log on to the domain or the local system. My resolution to the problem was to add a forced nettime sync upon boot up, but in my scenario, that was all that was needed. This may not be the only thing that one could do to solve the issue, which is why I would like to introduce you to the solution that the technical fellows I mentioned earlier from Net-On have come up with to tackle the issue.

You can find a downloadable document outlining the solution from the below link:
