Ian Pratt recently was on stage during the keynote sessions at Citrix Synergy showing the current implementation of the Type 1 Xen client hypervisor running on a PC and Mac. He did the demonstrations with Patrick Gelsinger from Intel.

To see Ian demonstrate the Windows Xen client go to 27 minutes 30 seconds. To see Ian demonstrate the Mac Xen client go to 42 minutes as Mark Templeton joins the stage.

The Windows and Mac OS X operating systems that you see are running on top of the Hypervisor independent of the hardware. The ICA Client will not be built into the Hypervisor, but rather run in the operating systems (Virtual Machines). I believe the Hypervisor will run on both 32 bit and 64 bit platforms but am not sure which Ian demonstrated.
I expect more information on this solution to come from Citrix in the near future as they are working on a final product based on open source Xen called XenClient.

Then through the help of the mailing list I managed to create a VM in the background.
But is there any documentation on how to accomplish what Ian did, and really make the VM's run on the screen and switch between them?
