Redirect an external URL to an internal URL

Description

Redirect requests for data on an external URL to an internal URL. In this example, the request is originally directed to www.external.host.com and is redirected to internal host www.my.host.com.

Code Snippet

1. Create the rewrite action.

add rewrite action act_external_to_internal REPLACE 'http.req.hostname.server' '"www.my.host.com"'

2. Create a rewrite policy to apply the action to all HTTP requests.

add rewrite policy pol_external_to_internal 'http.req.hostname.server.eq("www.external.host.com")' act_external_to_internal

3. Bind the policy to a virtual server to prevent chunking on particular target servers.

bind rewrite global pol_external_to_internal 100 END -type REQ_OVERRIDE
