Description

The IdletimeSession tool allows you to list all users whose sessions have been idle for a specific amount of time.

Script Version

Download Script 1.0

How to Use IdletimeSession

On the command prompt where the script resides, issue the following command to list all users who were idle for greater than a specific amount of time.

> IdleTimeforSession.wsf flag(hour,min,days) <int>

Example: IdealTimeforSession.wsf hour 2

Example: IdealTimeforSession.wsf days 1

Example: IdealTimeforSession.wsf min 30

Code Snippet

For all sessions in the farm, get the last input time and current time:

' Last input time

Set objTime = Session.LastInputTime(1)

' Current Time

Set currTime =Session.CurrentTime(1)

Calculate the idle time for a session and list the sessions greater than the specified idle time.

Where is the IdleTimeforSession script?  Also the examples for running from Cmd Line are misspelled: IdealTimeforSession

Thanks for the comment. I will post the script soon and correct the spelling mistake

When I run this I get inconsistent results.  A user shows 53 minutes in the script but 4 minutes idle in the CMC.    Why would those values be different?

Is this happening with all the sessions or just few?. What happens when you refresh CMC data.

There is third party application for monitor IDLE time at [www.terminalserviceslog.com]

Data that is captured:
Connection start (date and hour)
User
Duration
IDLE time
Active time
Disconnected session time
Connection end (date and hour)
Status

When I run the script on my Farm I get an error:
IdealTimeforSession.wsf(110, 8) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Overflow: 'cint'

Anyone else seen this..?
