Lead Technical Writer, Application Networking Group, Citrix Systems, Inc.

What I do at Citrix

I work as a technical writer for Citrix Systems, Inc., in the Application Networking Group (ANG) in Santa Clara, California. (That's a suburb of San Jose, California, in the San Francisco Bay area.) I am responsible for the Citrix Application Firewall documentation. This includes both the Citrix Application Firewall Guide, which covers the NetScaler platform, and the document set for the Citrix Application Firewall EX, which is built on a different platform and functions as a standalone Application Firewall. In the 7.0 release cycle, I documented the first version of the Rewrite feature, and in the 8.1 release cycle, I wrote the first version of the Citrix Advanced Policy Guide.

What I do on the AppExpert Portal

Most of the work I contribute to the AppExpert portal consists of procedures that explain how to write NetScaler policies for the Application Firewall and Rewrite features. My sources for this information include discussions with Citrix ANG sales engineers (whose experience with customers in the field is invaluable), Citrix development and quality assurance engineers, and occasionally an interesting item from my own research configuring the Citrix NetScaler appliance. As the AppExpert portal attracts increasing numbers of users, I expect I will begin drawing from their experience as well. (I promise I will give credit to whoever provided any solution I document!)
