Are you planning to attend Intel Developer Forum 2009 next week? If so, you will see Citrix in every corner of the event!

Stop by the Citrix booth (#501) next week at San Francisco's Moscone Center to see demos of our Citrix Delivery Center solutions. We will also showcase demos of Citrix XenClient, our joint collaboration with Intel to develop a local desktop virtualization platform.

In addition, Citrix will be featured in the Intel Virtualization Pavilion and Intel vPro Zone Communities. Within the Communities we'll showcase XenClient and also how Citrix XenServer leverages the benefits of Intel Xeon processors for Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop workloads. And as if that weren't enough, we will also have a demo of SR-IOV with Citrix XenServer at Intel's booth.

Citrix will also be featured within several breakout sessions at the event. Stop by the session "Hosted, Streamed, and Local Bare Metal Desktop Virtualization with Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenClient" on September 22nd from 3-3:50pm to hear Peter Blum introduce our desktop virtualization vision and discuss Citrix XenClient.

Also, Simon Crosby is participating in a cloud virtualization panel discussion alongside other industry-leading companies. This session is scheduled for September 22nd from 5-5:50pm.

In short...or maybe not that short...if you plan on attending the event, you'll have a lot of opportunities to meet with Citrix and learn how Citrix is working with Intel.

We look forward to seeing you there and we guarantee you won't be able to miss us! Learn more about Intel Developer Forum or register to attend here.

Just a reminder that this Thursday June 25th, 2009 Alliance Technologies is hosting a follow up event to Synergy 09 and Geek Speak Live in Iowa, so if you are in the area and missed out on recent Citrix events, here is your chance to hear from thought leaders and tech experts from the community and the industry.

The information-packed days of Citrix Synergy 2009 are over and what an event it was! More than 3000 people gathered to examine the future of virtualization, networking and application delivery technologies designed to help companies maximize constrained IT spending. As a follow up to Synergy 2009, Alliance Technologies is hosting Geek Speak Local in Iowa City to provide facilitated learning from thought leaders and tech experts, including Matt Lesak, Daniel Feller, Jason Conger and Michael Keen.

Once again, this open forum event will give the audience the chance to run the show and will include discussions and input from experts in the delivery infrastructure community.

You can find out more on the event and how to register from the below link:

I recently returned from PubForum 09 that ran from June 5-7 in Dublin, Ireland. What an incredible event it turned out to be, further strengthening PubForum's excellent seven-year track record as one of the most well respected IT industry conferences in the world. All seats were filled prior to the event, and the speakers and attendees seemed to enjoy every minute of this content- and discussion-rich conference!

Event Highlights

As I described in a recent blog post, we ran a Geek Speak Live! track at PubForum this year that proved to be a fantastic addition to the event. Some highlights of Geek Speak Live! at PubForum included a Geek Speak room on Saturday, and the following individual sessions:

  • Shawn Bass's thought-provoking "XenDesktop 3.0 and Its Impact on the VDI Landscape" session that was a follow-on to his Geek Speak Tonight! session at Synergy in May
  • Radoslaw Smigielski's "XenServer Deep Dive" session, the informative opening session in the Geek Speak room on Saturday
  • Rene Vester's provocative "Essentials for... Virtualization" session that turned into an active Q&A and sparked several related follow-on discussions
  • Rich Crusco's discussion on "What's New in Provisioning Server," a great session that resulted in a very interesting Q&A
  • The Geek Speakeasy Discussion Club...two hours of ongoing discussions covering a variety of technical topics from the Value of Today's Hottest Technologies to What Does Citrix Need to Do to Stay in Business?

Event Photos

I've posted a collection of photographs "hot off the presses" of the speakers and attendees at the PubForum keynote and Geek Speak Live! track sessions, as well as some great Dublin scenery that was within walking distance from the conference. If you didn't have the chance to attend PubForum this year, these photographs will give you insight into the good times that were had.

I'd love to hear your feedback, so please feel free to send me an email. For more information about the Geek Speak program, click here.

If you are in Europe near Brussels and want to learn more about the open source solutions of virtualization, I recommend looking into a conference for January 22 - 23, 2008 at http://www.profoss.eu

Speakers currently scheduled for the event are from Sun, AMD, Novell, The 451 Group, Citrix, and many other leaders from open source projects. The event is sponsored by companies such as HP, Oracle, Unisys, and others.

Text from the Event Home Page:
Welcome to the Profoss website. If you're a professional user of Information and Communication Technologies, you'll be happy to know that Profoss brings you quality events where you will actually learn things, without commercial talks.

Profoss' objective is to spread objective information about the possibility to use professional solutions based on alternatives to proprietary and closed products. We focus on organising informative events, each dedicated to one subject, where professional IT people can get the information they need to make informed decisions. We also want to put you in contact with local professionals able to support you in your projects.

As you are smart enough to draw conclusions, we'll provide objective information so you can take the best decision based on your work environment, your experience, your knowledge, etc... We're not trying to sell you anything. We're only trying to bring you the most interesting information.

We don't think that to make an event interesting, it has to be expensive. This makes Profoss events accessible to employees of bigger companies as well as SMEs, where open solutions can have a significant added value.
