Citrix Education has just released CTX-XDVID Citrix XenDesktop 2.0: Quick-Start Video, a one hour eLearning course designed to bring students up to speed on Citrix XenDesktop 2.0.
Available at no cost, the course consists of five narrated videos which demonstrate the step-by-step process of building a complete virtual desktop delivery system as well as the skills needed to install, configure and manage the Desktop Delivery Controller.
After viewing the video course, learners will be able to complete the following key tasks:
• Install the Desktop Delivery Controller
• Configure the Access Management Console
• Install licenses for XenDesktop
• Install XenDesktop Setup Tool
• Install the Virtual Desktop Agent on a client image
• Add the image to the Provisioning Server database
• Customize desktops for users
• Create desktop templates for the XenDesktop Setup Tool
• Configure the XenDesktop Setup Tool
• Create virtual desktops using the XenDesktop Setup Tool
• Install XenDesktop Clients

At Synergy, Citrix Education will host a technical breakout session, "The IT Talent You Need Today and Tomorrow," which explores different job roles/activities related to application delivery, and examines the future of IT professionals.
At this session, attendees will learn:
- Methods for training and developing individuals to be application delivery-fluent
- How Citrix is working to fulfill market demand for qualified application delivery IT professionals
- About customers that are developing and transforming their staff and IT organization to support application delivery

The Citrix Education team will be conducting a series of focus groups during the Citrix Synergy conference, to be held Tuesday, May 20th, Wednesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 22nd at 1PM. Join your peers at one of these dynamic sessions depending on your role:
• If you make decisions regarding training and certification for your staff join us on Tuesday from 1-2:30
• If you have taken official Citrix Education training courses and/or are Citrix certified join us on Wednesday from 1-2:30
• If you have never taken any Citrix training join us on Thursday from 1-2
All three sessions will take place in the George R. Brown Convention Center with specific location information to follow. PLEASE NOTE: Each participant who qualifies and participates will receive a $50 honorarium.

Good news! Citrix XenApp administrators and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) now have another opportunity to help Citrix Education develop the next advanced XenApp exam!
Citrix Education is looking for XenApp Administrators who support an implementation and/or SMEs in Citrix XenApp to assist in developing questions for the upcoming advanced exam for the next version of Citrix XenApp. Only seven (7) partner and customer SMEs will be selected to attend a five-day onsite Item Development Workshop (IDW) at Citrix worldwide headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from Monday (July 21st) through Friday (July 25th). Due to security reasons, participants must attend in person.
Participants in the workshop will:
• Gain hands-on experience with the newest code of Citrix XenApp running on Windows Server 2008
• Receive training on how to write questions for certification exams
• Work alongside our Exam Developers to develop questions
• Work alongside other field experts to review, modify and finalize questions written by other participants of the workshop
No preparation is necessary - simply bring your expertise and be ready to develop questions based on on your experience with supporting a Citrix XenApp implementation! Note, If travel is an issue, Citrix Education is offering a limited number of travel scholarships available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Criteria for participation:
In order to be considered for participation, participants must meet the following criteria:
• Have operating system experience
• Have advanced Citrix XenApp knowledge
• Have Citrix XenApp 4.5 or higher implemented in a production environment
• Provide a reference to confirm his or her experience with Citrix XenApp
• Pass the exam development pre-screening by responding to a short survey
• Be willing to commit to attending for the duration of the IDW
Compensation:
In addition to other benefits, workshop participants will receive credit as a SME for the developed exam, as well as free copies of related courseware and vouchers for this exam.
