At Synergy, Citrix Education will host a technical breakout session, "The IT Talent You Need Today and Tomorrow," which explores different job roles/activities related to application delivery, and examines the future of IT professionals.
At this session, attendees will learn:
- Methods for training and developing individuals to be application delivery-fluent
- How Citrix is working to fulfill market demand for qualified application delivery IT professionals
- About customers that are developing and transforming their staff and IT organization to support application delivery

The Citrix Education team will be conducting a series of focus groups during the Citrix Synergy conference, to be held Tuesday, May 20th, Wednesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 22nd at 1PM. Join your peers at one of these dynamic sessions depending on your role:
• If you make decisions regarding training and certification for your staff join us on Tuesday from 1-2:30
• If you have taken official Citrix Education training courses and/or are Citrix certified join us on Wednesday from 1-2:30
• If you have never taken any Citrix training join us on Thursday from 1-2
All three sessions will take place in the George R. Brown Convention Center with specific location information to follow. PLEASE NOTE: Each participant who qualifies and participates will receive a $50 honorarium.

If you are a Citrix XenApp administrator or considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Citrix XenApp and want to be part of the team developing the next certification exam, a special opportunity is available just for you.
The Citrix Education Team is looking for XenApp Administrators and/or SMEs to assist in developing questions to be included in an upcoming certification exam for the next version of Citrix XenApp. Only seven (7) partner and customer SMEs will be selected to attend a five-day onsite Item Development Workshop (IDW) at Citrix worldwide headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from Monday (June 2nd) through Friday (June 6th). Due to security reasons, participants must attend in person.
Participants in the workshop will:
• Gain hands-on experience with the newest code of Citrix XenApp running on Windows Server 2008
• Receive training on how to write questions for certification exams
• Work alongside our Exam Developers to develop questions
• Work alongside other field experts to review, modify and finalize questions written by other participants of the workshop
No preparation is necessary; simply bring your expertise and be ready to develop questions based on XenApp administrative tasks! If travel is an issue, Citrix Education is offering a limited number of travel scholarships available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Criteria for participation:
In order to be considered for participation, participants must meet the following criteria:
• Have base operating system experience
• Have Citrix XenApp knowledge
• Have Citrix XenApp 4.5 or higher implemented in a production and/or lab environment
• Provide a reference to confirm his or her experience with Citrix XenApp
• Pass the exam development pre-screening by responding to a short survey
• Be willing to commit to attending for the duration of the IDW
Compensation:
Participants of the workshop will receive credit as a SME for the developed exam, as well as free copies of related courseware and vouchers for this exam, in addition to other benefits.

Now that Citrix XenApp is the new name for Citrix Presentation Server, Citrix Education has made significant updates to the nomenclature of its Presentation Server 4.5 courses, exams and related certifications. Here is what you need to know:
- Effective April 11, 2008, the nomenclature of Presentation Server 4.5 courses, exams and related certifications have been updated to reflect the new XenApp product line name.
- Updates are limited to nomenclature only; course/exam content and certification requirements have not changed.
- New course/exam releases will adopt the XenApp name starting with Project Delaware
- No changes have been made to titles of Presentation Server 4.0 exams and courses.
- Certification records of existing Presentation Server 4 certificants have been updated to reflect the new certification name.
- Candidates who have already been certified and would like to receive certificates with the new designation, can request a new certificate by accessing their account on the Certification Manager website.
- All future certificants will receive certificates with the new nomenclature. The table below details the updated Presentation Server courses, exams and certifications, with new nomenclature:
